Study of marine fauna

Study of marine fauna

Cybelle Planète brings great importance to the marine environment and its animal species.
The immensity of the marine areas makes it difficult to research and monitor the fauna that lives there. It is not easy to assess precisely the impacts of global changes (pollution, fishing, maritime traffic, climate change, etc.) on these animals. This type of marine biodiversity study requires large-scale and multi-year follow-up. Scientists lack financial resources, and this is where eco-volunteer missions come up with solutions!
Missions at sea for the study of cetaceans, sharks, rays, turtles, and other offshore animals are a boon for research and management. All the more so as the majority of the species monitored are subject to specific protective measures. Behavioral observations, censuses, geolocation of animals; All the data collected by the ecovolunteers are a stone to the building! The information contributes in practice to research programs and the development of results that support requests for measures to protect marine mammals and their environment.
Each of our missions dedicated to the marine environment has been selected for the quality of its conservation project. Ecovolunteers will participate in a real field study, in relation to a particular environment: the sea. A source of history, fantasy and mystery, the sea can also be revealed to the eyes and the heart of the ecovolunteers throughout their mission.
