Acting for nature, yes, but who are the ecovolunteers?

Since 2005, Cybelle Planète organizes eco-volunteering missions in France and abroad.

His goal : contribute to the preservation of biodiversity through citizen participation.

With an increasing number of participants since its inception, the association works every day to democratize participatory ecology, and offers as such, the field missions, mostly in protected natural areas or sanctuaries from to wild animals that are found shelters.

  • The field work is mainly related to the observation, identification of species and study their environment, such as the mission "study of cetaceans in the Mediterranean" or the expedition dedicated to the census of jaguars in Brazil.

  • Sanctuaries, meanwhile, offer the ability to monitor and care for the animals day after day. Often it's animals suffered abuse, abandoned or from the zoo. Although they are used to being around men, these animals are no less wild.

Necessary to maintain biodiversity, eco-volunteering remains a human experience, made of encounters between various profiles of various origins.

A study by Cybelle Planète its ecovolunteers reveals that the motivation of these addresses a particular interest in a symbolic animal: elephant, primate, dolphin ... The ecovolunteers profile

The strong representation of employees among ecovolunteers is partly explained by the possibility of a mission as part of eco-solidarity leave.

 What missions for ecovolunteers?

The ecovolunteers go to 58% on field missions against 38% in sanctuaries. These two types of shipments, although very different allow ecovolunteers, to enjoy their mission to reconnect with nature and live on one side, a rich field experience sensations, and on the other the realization of a dream proximity with wild animals. In all cases they return from their mission with the feeling that comes to biodiversity.
