Testimony of Pytheas for the mission Expeditions in the sanctuary Pelagos: study of Cetaceans and Biodiversity, France

Mission of 7 days performed in July 2019

My participation

Observations of marine mammals and floating waste.
Quarters from 1h30 to 2h00, two to three times a day.

My expectations

Yes, I had a very nice week. Many good memories.

My advice

There is no need to change lines at the Peupliers stop in Hyères. Take the 67 line from the station and get off at the Port La Gavine stop. It is right next to the port St Pierre.

What I retain

Coming from very different horizons, we were complementary. I liked it.
Even Neptune at first angry (storms), finally let us see some of his subjects. Nice!

My assets

More than the presence of macro waste, it is the quantity of tiny marbles visible suspended in the water when the sea is calm which strongly touched me and worried.
If some people do not believe in a human cause for climate change, there is no doubt about the dispersion of waste into the environment.
At home, the war on plastic packaging was already declared. Now I will try to ban the purchase of any plastic item as much as possible.
